Helen Clark, head of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and former prime minister of New Zealand, visited the ACWA Power stand at the 18th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2016). Ms. Clark was received by Chairman of ACWA Power Mr. Mohammed Abunayyan, and Mr. Paddy Padmanathan, president and CEO of ACWA Power.
A titanium sponsor at this year’s exhibition and conference series, ACWA Power has led the incremental shift to energy generation that is efficient, reliable, safe and low-cost. On exhibition at WETEX is the company’s Shuaa Energy PV IPP—the second phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park—which will deliver 200MW of photovoltaic (PV) solar power in the UAE, and its Hassyan Energy Phase 1 PSC, which is set to generate 2,400 MW of energy in the country and utilises a special technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
