About thermal desalination

Thermal desalination is the process of boiling water, using a vacuum distillatory, at less than atmospheric pressure. The method allows water to be boiled at a lower temperature than in air helping to reduce power consumption. Thermal desalination plants are usually co-located with power stations to supply energy for the process.
